THE FINAL INGREDIENT OF CHAOS

The Summoner just stood and looked at the devastation before him, unmoving like freezing.

It was unexpected for him that the Monsterbanes, with the help of a disorganized army of monster hunters and mercenaries had flattened up the outpost fortress on Mordsgard Mountain.

The fortress was supposed to be the foothold for the Dark Forces to launch the global Ragnarok war, along with the Summoner and the army of monsters, called the Scourgers.

Now that the outpost fortress was gone, the Scourgers and the Dark Forces could only launch the incursions from their headquarters farther from Lu Vazr than this point, namely Mordsgard Mines and the Necropolis of Desdemon.

“This just sucks,” the Summoner murmured, his choice of words was ever much more modern, more advanced than his time. In short, he always talked the same way Alec did, only in a menacing tone.

The Summoner watched with cold, calculating eyes as Arachus, the dark and malevolent archdevil, the current leader of the Dark Forces, showed up and vented his frustration. The air in the dimly lit chamber of the makeshift fortress was thick with the oppressive energy of failed ambitions and seething rage. The walls seemed to pulse with an eerie, otherworldly light, casting long, shifting shadows that danced with every flicker of the torches.

Arachus’ voice was a grating, guttural snarl. “Omegron and the Dark Forces were supposed to crush our enemies and pave the way for the Scourgers’ dominance. Instead, they faltered, their assault a mere whisper against the storm that awaits.”

The Summoner, cloaked in flowing robes of the deepest black, listened without interruption. His face was fully covered by a hood and a red sinister mask, but the glint of his eyes shone with an intense, almost fanatical light. He held a crystalline vial in his slender, pale hand—a vessel containing the rare and potent Nectar of Phanes, a substance whispered of in ancient, forbidden texts.

“You speak of failure, Arachus,” the Summoner intoned, his voice smooth and deceptively gentle. “But every setback is but a step toward our ultimate goal.”

Arachus’ form twisted, his essence roiling with dark power. “Our enemies grow stronger. They forge alliances and gather their strength. They must be crushed before they can mount a true defense.”

The Summoner nodded, his gaze unwavering. “And they will be. But first, I require the final piece of the puzzle. Your essence, Arachus. The power that you wield within you.”

Arachus recoiled, his demonic eyes narrowing. “You wish to extract my essence? Do you seek to weaken me further?”

The Summoner rebuked, “Quite the opposite. Your essence will amplify our power tenfold. With it, we shall summon forces beyond their darkest nightmares.”

“Over my dead body.”

“Oh, you’ve been dead and never fully back alive, you devil. Now face me and show me that you still have the strength worth reckoning.”

“With pleasure. Who are you to covet the essence of my power, knave? Prove your strength too!”

“No need for signals, because here I go!”

The chamber echoed with the clash of titanic forces as the Summoner and Archdevil Arachus faced off.
